I realize that rants are not usually intended to make sense to onlookers (especially those residing on other continents), but …I can has explanayshun, plz?
Because, as a disenfranchised tax payer, I am fed up of funding the lives of Scots, while having no say in the matter (while MPs for Scottish seats can vote on matters that affect me). This means that the SNP can prance about at my expense. If they really want independence, they should have it – but they should pay for it themselves.

Thanks, cromercrox … I’ll admit to being more grumpy about paying taxes recently than is usual for me (normally I’m not bothered). More accurately, I suppose I’m actually grumpy about being penalized for behaving responsibly with my money, while surrounded by those who bought more house, SUV, and material crap than they could possibly afford. [wicked] I also suspect that many people are claiming disability and skiving off work, when they’re not genuinely disabled in any reasonable sense of the word. [/wicked] Though I don’t want anyone, especially a child, to go without adequate food, shelter, or medical care, regardless of the reason … so I’d better just suck it up and pay my taxes and continue to be financially cautious.
