Diamond

I have been deluged by an email from a Ms S. F. of Oxfordshire alerting me to the fact that the Diamond Light Source, the UK’s national synchrotron facility, has launched a story-writing competition. Details are here, and the beamline deadline is 30 November. So get scribbling.

    Sir (?),

I do not think it is possible to be deluged by just one e-mail. How can this possibly happen?

If it is possible, please tell me how.

There is someone I would like to deluge. Thank you.

It was a very big email. And soggy.

  3. Frank says:

I think it can only happen if you were previously very thoroughly luged. Then a single email may be sufficient to de-luge you.

Thank, guys, for your advice! This is my first foray into the kingdom of blog, so I feel very positive about it. Would you like to know about history..? The history of science perhaps? Also is this the place to ask daft questions about science? I’m totally right-brained, you see. (And now I am going to read ‘Trading knowledge…’)

Welcome, Ethereal Historian, to Occam’s Typewriter. We’re not really a science blog site – just a lot of people with a shared common interest in science who like to share pictures of their pets. And other stuff.
