Just a quick reminder to get your orders in for Defiant the Guinea Pig – Firefighter!, a mini-epic adventure written by me and Crox Minima. I’ve been selling this special boutique edition for a limited time only as a print-on-demand paperback, while my agent is courting editors and publishers with it. I’m withdrawing it from sale on Thursday (15th) so now’s your chance to get that last-minute stocking filler for people of very all ages. This is your chance to have what could be a collector’s item!
The Blurb:
Defiant the Guinea Pig is a lazy lump who spends all day in bed eating carrot pies and reading his Captain Extraordinary comics. When Defiant’s mother tells him to leave home and find a job, he becomes the smallest and unlikeliest new recruit in the City Fire Service. But Defiant’s new life as a firefighter begins just as a new wave of fires sweeps the city. Can Defiant and his firefighting friend Vermifuge the Armadillo find the firestarter? Can they save the city from going up in smoke? And will Defiant make his Mum proud?
I daren’t say more, except that there’s a unicycling giraffe in it.

Congratulations! We will get an order in this evening!
We’re looking for a guinea-pig sitter when we soon go on vacation. Any takers?
You could always airdrop them over Cromer. We have a hutch to spare.
Just one- Vanilla. The sweet Abyssinian one dies a few years back.
So you can next write: “Vanilla the paratrooper…”
Vanilla the Guinea Pig – Paratrooper!
It could work. Crox Minima is a bit starved of inspiration at present. She did start ‘Defiant the Guinea Pig – Lifeguard!’ but didn’t get very far.

I think you need to give this Trellis guy a guest blog–unless you are making him up!
How about a more topical sequel – ‘The Pig’s Boson’. In which Defiant saves the world when CERN’s Large Bacon Slicer goes out of control.
Just placed an order for Defiant on Lulu. The shipping is almost more expensive than the book!
Thank you Steve. I hope you and the younger Caplanii enjoy it.
Just make sure that Crox minima receives her share of the royalties!
Crox minima will use her royalties to buy riding lessons. It’s the only way we can afford them.
I thought guinea pigs were too small too ride…
Stephen – ‘Defiant the Guinea Pig – Nuclear Physicist!’ – it could work.
I haven’t read my copy yet, but will do so over the Christmas break!
