  1. It’s a confusing place, San Diego. I’ve only been there once, but I was struck by a confusing contrast between the left-coast, SoCal feel of the place, and the massive military presence in the harbour. It being hot and sunny in the middle of January also threw me a bit.

    That said, I didn’t come across any four-for-the-price-of-three deals on children, although I was informed by my taxi driver how I could easily arrange for my car to be stolen, if I needed the insurance money.

    I haven’t been back since.
