My church is Holy Trinity South Kensington<\/a> on Prince Consort Road. I arrived here via a circuitous route and the Imperial<\/a> College connection<\/a>. <\/p>\n

My job-church, where I work, is St Mary\u2019s Hornsey Rise<\/a>. I work on a project involving outreach in the local community. <\/p>\n

I am studying for the Bishop\u2019s Certificate in Christian Studies<\/a> through the St Edmund\u2019s Courses<\/a>, Diocese of London<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Before All This<\/h3>\n

Before All This<\/a> happened, I was a statistician and scientist. I worked latterly at AstraZeneca<\/a>, and before that spent some years at GlaxoSmithKline<\/a>.<\/p>\n

From 2009 to 2013 I was a PhD student in the Department of Epidemiology and Biostatistics<\/a> at Imperial College London<\/a>. My thesis was on the development of statistical methods to use genetic data in the estimation of disease risk. My supervisor was Professor Maria De Iorio<\/a>. I spent the final thirteen months of my PhD studentship as a visiting student to the Department of Statistical Science<\/a> at UCL<\/a>. In 2013 I passed<\/a> my PhD and starting working.<\/p>\n

From 2008 to 2009 I was an MSc student in the Department of Life Sciences<\/a> at Imperial. I completed the MSc in Bioinformatics and Theoretical Systems Biology<\/a>.<\/p>\n

My postgraduate training was funded by a Wellcome Trust<\/a> Four-year PhD Studentship<\/a>.<\/p>\n

My undergraduate training is in biochemistry. I completed a BSc Biochemistry<\/a>, also at Imperial. My copy of Stryer<\/a> is the green one (fifth edition).<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
