I do love how I used to be as an undergraduate. During a clear out, I found an academic diary from the first year of my undergraduate studies.<\/p>\n

In it, in the notes pages, in between a note about booking a coach travel ticket and a shopping list, is written the phrase “Cancerous tissue has deranged glucose catabolism”.<\/p>\n

I have traced this phrase to a “More Medically Relevant Example” in Chapter 14 of Lehninger’s Principles of Biochemistry, fourth edition. I always did prefer Lehninger to Stryer.<\/p>\n

Quite why I would have noted this phrase down in between a note to self about public transport options and a list of things to pick up at the supermarket I do not recall.<\/p>\n
