Apparently it&#8217;s not talked about much. My own feeling is that health issues in general are not much talked about (with a couple of trendy exceptions): the comments when I talked about &#8220;depression&#8221;:http:\/\/network.nature.com\/people\/rpg\/blog\/2008\/09\/14\/on-depression\u2014a-personal-perspective and <a href=\"http:\/\/network.nature.com\/people\/rpg\/blog\/2008\/10\/24\/the-drugs-dont-work\">cancer research<\/a> are probably indicative that although people don&#8217;t talk much about them, they really want to.<\/p>\n<p>\nSo I&#8217;m putting my money where my mouth is, and because <del>I want to save on razorblades<\/del> <del>always wanted to be a Spitfire pilot<\/del> Paully talked me into it, I&#8217;ve signed up for <a href=\"http:\/\/www.movember.com\/\">Movember<\/a>. Starting tomorrow I will forego my daily face-scrape so that I can grow a bushy &#8216;tache, in <a href=\"http:\/\/au.movember.com\/outcomes\/content\/Fundraising-Outcomes\/\">aid<\/a> of (specifically) The Prostate Cancer Foundation of Australia and <em>beyondblue: the national depression initiative<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>\nHere&#8217;s what I looked like this morning:<\/p>\n<p>\n<img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"http:\/\/blogs.usyd.edu.au\/labrats\/images\/day0-thumb.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"400\" height=\"265\" \/><\/p>\n<p>\nIf you want to help (please, please do), you can <a href=\"http:\/\/tinyurl.com\/6bywfs\">donate<\/a> by credit card or PayPal account.
