It’s a beautiful morning here in Vancouver – sunny and cold, with an emphasis on the cold. It is in fact a “holy shit!” on the international scale of coldness, and all the smart cyclists1<\/a><\/sup> are wearing balaclavas and looking like ninjas. So it’s a good day to ask a question about a cold-related phenomenon I’ve noticed in myself and others over the years.
\nWhen you’ve been out for a while on a cold day, and then come back inside, why does the first blast of heat make you shiver?<\/p>\n
