However, my problem is <b>C<\/b>ompounded by working on (mainly) <b>B<\/b>reast <b>C<\/b>ancer in <b>B<\/b>ritish <b>C<\/b>olumbia, <b>C<\/b>anada &#8211; with American, <b>B<\/b>ritish, and <b>C<\/b>anadian <b>C<\/b>ollaborators. So the same letters tend to occur over and over:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><b>A<\/b> is for Agency, Alberta, Alliance, America, American, or Association<\/li>\n<li><b>B<\/b> is for <b><span style=\"color: red\">B<\/span><\/b>reast, <b><span style=\"color: red\">B<\/span><\/b>ritish, or <b><span style=\"color: red\">B<\/span><\/b>roadcasting <\/li>\n<li><b>C<\/b> is for <b>C<\/b>anada, <b>C<\/b>anadian, <b>C<\/b>ancer, <b>C<\/b>enter, <b>C<\/b>entre, <b>C<\/b>entres, <b><span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span><\/b>ollaborative, <b>C<\/b>olumbia, <b>C<\/b>onsortium,&nbsp; <b><span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span><\/b>orporation, or <b>C<\/b>ouncil<\/li>\n<li><b>F<\/b> is for Foundation or Fund<\/li>\n<li><b>I<\/b> is for Innovation, Institute, or Institutes<\/li>\n<li><b>N<\/b> is for National or Network<\/li>\n<li><b>S<\/b> is for Science or Society <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><b>R<\/b> is always for research and <b>H<\/b> is always for Health, for which I suppose I should be grateful.<\/p>\n<p>Put any of these letters together in any <b>C<\/b>ombination, and I probably have a matching folder somewhere.<\/p>\n<p>Let&#8217;s see, I have folders for the following: <b>AA<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>R, A<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>RI, <span style=\"color: red\">BCC<\/span>A, <span style=\"color: red\">BCC<\/span>R<span style=\"color: red\">C, BCC<\/span>F, <span style=\"color: red\">CBC, CBC<\/span>F, <span style=\"color: red\">CBC<\/span>RA, <span style=\"color: red\">CC<\/span>SRI, <span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>FI, <span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>IHR, <span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>RUK, G<span style=\"color: red\">BC<\/span>, N<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>E, N<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>I, N<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>I<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>, NIH, NSER<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>, <\/b>and<b> OI<span style=\"color: red\">C<\/span>R<\/b>. <\/p>\n<p>So today, <b>C<\/b>hecking my <b>C<\/b>redit <b>C<\/b>ard <b>B<\/b>alance online, I was <b>C<\/b>onfused to see a payment to an entity <b>C<\/b>alled  <b><span style=\"color: red\">BC<\/span>F<\/b>.<\/p>\n<p>Very <b>C<\/b>onfused.<\/p>\n<p>Was there a new player in town? The <b>B<\/b>ritish <b>C<\/b>olumbia <b>F<\/b>oundation? The <b>B<\/b>reast <b>C<\/b>ancer <b>F<\/b>und? The <b>B<\/b>roadcasting <b>C<\/b>entre <b>F<\/b>oundation? <b>B<\/b>ritish <b>C<\/b>entral <b>F<\/b>und? <b>B<\/b>oring <b>C<\/b>hristmas<b> F<\/b>ood?<b> <span style=\"color: red\">B<\/span><\/b>urgeoning <b>C<\/b>at <b>F<\/b>ur? <b>B<\/b>ig <b>C<\/b>haotic <b>F<\/b>renzy? <b>B<\/b>ring <b>C<\/b>ath <b>F<\/b>udge? <\/p>\n<p>And why the <b>B<\/b>loody <b>C<\/b>ockeyed <b>F<\/b>uck am I giving them money??!!<\/p>\n<p>Until I realised the item was related to our upcoming trip to Vancouver Island.<\/p>\n<p>A trip that necessitates paying a reservation fee to  <b>BC <span style=\"color: black\">F<\/span><\/b>erries.<\/p>\n<p>I think I need to get out more.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>My Computer files and email inbox are awash, overflowing, drowning in the acronyms used by various funding agencies, academic institutes, media outlets, and assorted other organisations.
