{"id":647,"date":"2010-11-03T13:27:00","date_gmt":"2010-11-03T13:27:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/occamstypewriter.org\/vwxynot\/2010\/11\/03\/fox-hunt\/"},"modified":"2010-11-03T13:27:00","modified_gmt":"2010-11-03T13:27:00","slug":"fox-hunt","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/occamstypewriter.org\/vwxynot\/2010\/11\/03\/fox-hunt\/","title":{"rendered":"Fox hunt"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Yesterday, while composing an email to our IT department trying to persuade them to let me install Firefox on my new computer*, I decided to quickly check that the new version of Internet Explorer doesn&#8217;t have any of the necessary features** I was claiming were unique to Firefox.<\/p>\n<p>I guess it doesn&#8217;t:<\/p>\n<div class=\"separator\" style=\"clear: both;text-align: center\"><a href=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_Xjsb8ObOj0k\/TNBz16YmGKI\/AAAAAAAACas\/zCL1pOTWxBk\/s1600\/spellcheck.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" border=\"0\" height=\"306\" src=\"http:\/\/4.bp.blogspot.com\/_Xjsb8ObOj0k\/TNBz16YmGKI\/AAAAAAAACas\/zCL1pOTWxBk\/s400\/spellcheck.jpg\" width=\"400\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n<p>Yay, Microsoft!<\/p>\n<p>&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;&#8212;- <\/p>\n<p>*it&#8217;s not so slow that I want to throw it out the window! And it will let me open more than three programmes at a time without crashing! No longer will I have to keep closing and re-opening programmes when I&#8217;m trying to compile a progress report from Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Adobe source files, plus PubMed! And the mouse scrolls properly, and the keyboard is crumb-free!
