The <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto2015.org\">Toronto 2015 Pan Am and Parapan Am Games<\/a> are finished,\u00a0and I&#8217;ve retired my photo credentials and numbered vest. With as little regret as possible I&#8217;ve given\u00a0back the\u00a0very nice equipment I borrowed from <a href=\"http:\/\/en.nikon.ca\/index.page\">Nikon<\/a> Photo Services, and I&#8217;m left with an <a href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ricardipus\/albums\/72157652268107935\">enormous pile of photographs<\/a> to sort through. Which isn&#8217;t really a bad problem to have.<\/p>\n<p><a title=\"TO2015 - Souvenirs\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ricardipus\/20124080724\/in\/dateposted-public\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5719\/20124080724_f1e73b8ea3.jpg\" alt=\"TO2015 - Souvenirs\" width=\"333\" height=\"500\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>There&#8217;s plenty more to write: about my credential courtesy of the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.hamilton.ca\">City of Hamilton<\/a> (host city for Pan Am soccer); some of the amazing athletes I had the privilege of watching; the always good-natured and highly effective corps of volunteers and security; the wonderful venue photo managers and their assistants; the good-humoured police and EMS officers at each site; and of course the three friends I had the pleasure of shooting the soccer with. What a beauty.<\/li>\n<li>And&#8230; <a href=\"http:\/\/en.nikon.ca\/Nikon-Products\/Product-Archive\/Camera-Lenses\/AF-S-DX-NIKKOR-18-55mm-f%252F3.5-5.6G-VR.html\">Nikon 18-55mm f\/3.5-5.6<\/a> &#8211; for general wide angle use, but this lens has disappointed me for the last time. <a href=\"https:\/\/twitter.com\/ricardipus\/status\/627636406374961153\">I&#8217;m done with it<\/a>.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Four camera bodies:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>trusty old Nikon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/reviews\/nikond5000\">D5000<\/a> &#8211;\u00a0the main workhorse<\/li>\n<li>borrowed, and even older, Nikon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/reviews\/NikonD200\">D200<\/a> &#8211; some use<\/li>\n<li>loaner Nikon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/previews\/nikon-d810\">D810<\/a> &#8211; borrowed for 7-a-side soccer, why not? Massive pixel count.<\/li>\n<li>loaner Nikon <a href=\"http:\/\/www.dpreview.com\/products\/nikon\/slrs\/nikon_d4\">D4<\/a> &#8211; borrowed for wheelchair basketball. A low light, machine-gunning monster.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Five purchased souvenirs:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>one official Hudson&#8217;s Bay Company Team Canada ball cap<\/li>\n<li>two TO2015 T-shirts (shamelessly bought\u00a0at 50% off toward the end of the games)<\/li>\n<li>two stuffed <a href=\"http:\/\/www.toronto2015.org\/mascot\">Pachi<\/a> mascots, gifts for the children of the kind friend who lent me her second camera (the D200) to replace my terminally-ailing second shooter D70S.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><a title=\"TO2015 - Wheelchair Basketball, Canada vs. Brazil\" href=\"https:\/\/www.flickr.com\/photos\/ricardipus\/20522563241\/in\/album-72157652268107935\/\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/farm6.staticflickr.com\/5618\/20522563241_cb8f99bfc8.jpg\" alt=\"TO2015 - Wheelchair Basketball, Canada vs. Brazil\" width=\"500\" height=\"333\" \/><\/a><br \/>\n<em>Pachi, in the flesh (more or less).<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Two credentials: one for Pan Am, one for Parapan Am.
