My review of What Works Gender Equality by Design by Iris Bohnet can be found at Nature. This is a book that is intended to be a guide to institutional action. I was somewhat underwhelmed, as my review makes plain. If you want a more positive take, you may also be interested in fellow Cantabrigian Victoria Bateman’s review in the Times Higher Education.

I was interested how critical your review is. I am most of the way through the book, and think it contains quite a lot of insights into how embedded gender bias can be. I would have thought that senior HE staff (which I am no longer) would find it a useful source, but you’re in a better position by far to judge. I do find some of the US literature on negotiations very individualistic.
In case you are interested, Iris Bohnet is giving a talk at LSE this week. The rest of her speaking schedule is here.
