The time has come to say goodbye to Nature Network. I am moving Reciprocal Space to at new site at Occam’s Typewriter, which launches today.
In part, to be perfectly honest, the move is motivated by the frustration accumulated in the transition to MT4 and other problems that have been aired thoroughly in the discussion threads and don’t need to be revisited today.
But for me it is largely a positive move to a new blogging venture that, while certainly centred on science, will not be tied to that subject. I also hope that we will be able to develop Occam’s Typewriter as a platform that will reach beyond NN’s core audience — the community of professional scientists.
I want to thank Lou and Matt for all the efforts they have made to resolve our technical problems over the past months and to fight the bloggers’ corner within the much larger enterprise that is Nature Publishing Group. I also particularly want to express my gratitude Matt for giving me the chance back in September 2008 to test my blogging mettle. The last couple of years have been a tremendously interesting journey. In a way, it has been the making of me!
I’m not withdrawing altogether. I remain a member of Nature Network and will try to contribute a comment or two, as the fancy takes me in the months and years to come. But if you have enjoyed some of my verbal wallowings on this blog, allow me invite you to take a look at Reciprocal Space in its new home:

Best wishes to all.
