A reciprocal space in Nature

I couldn’t not do a quick post about this – today’s Futures story in Nature which provides an interesting medical twist on Oscar Wilde’s The Picture of Dorian Gray, a tale that resonated with me a couple of weeks back. It’s beautifully done – go read!

(I’m afraid, however, that the article may be behind a pay-wall but I hope most of you can access it.)

  1. Richard P. Grant says:

    Such a personal thing, art.
Telegraphing the punchline in the title was what spoiled it for me, I think.

  2. Stephen Curry says:

I take your point Richard – but anyone familiar with the original would have cottoned on pretty quickly anyway and that didn’t really mar my enjoyment.

  3. Henry Gee says:

One of the things I enjoyed was the authorship – two medical scientists from Greece. I do not wish to sound patronizing (the story would have succeeded irrespective of country of origin) but I do rather like getting stories from from people in places not usually associated with the SF mainstream.

  4. Jennifer Rohn says:

Thanks, Stephen – I’d have missed it otherwise.
