There is something deeply, deeply wrong with the advert that keeps appearing to the right of your erudite discourse:
Please, in the name of all that’s holy, make it stop. Look, I’ll even buy something from Eppendorf if only they take it down.

Eh? There are adverts?
Methnks you need Adblock Plus.
I’m with Richard. I haven’t touched a pipette for 30 years, but that advert is scary!
Totally agree! It is giving me migraines. It just catches the corner of my vision, exactly in the headache-inducing spot. 2012 logo, all over again.
I agree. Anyone whose life is so dreary that pipetting could be imagined as in any way ‘fun’ obviously needs to be shut in my shed and forced to listen to my tapes of kittens being impaled on red-hot skewers.
I could imagine it being quite fun to make certain people suck up concerntrated HCl — oh, but that’s biuretting, sorry.
My main problem is not whether or not it is “fun” but the flashing strobe effect.
Wording of adverts never bothers me as I just tune it out, but when they flash and roll around on your screen, I get cross. When they give you a headache, I get even crosser.
Somebody should make a collection of nonsensical ads. It’s off topic, but this reminded of an ad my dentist features, it says ‘Smile now, pay later’. To me it sounds like something the devil would say when he asks for your soul or so.
I was going to fart around with /etc/hosts/ but then I thought – if everybody clicks through that ad multiple times, do you think Eppendorf might sponsor the blogging conference?
I’m fairly sure that guy in the sunglasses was in grad school with me you know… If I’m right, his name is Lauren and he’s an ecologist…
Hey, have any of you watched the video, all the way through. I have.
And shame on you, Richard – I posted about this ages ago on one of Dr Rohn’s blog posts. You’re plainly not the
obsessive fanaticfan of Dr Rohn you claim to be!As someone who has hardly ever pippeted (wet science? ewwww!) I was almost tempted to start. She looks to be having so much fun!
Scott – I’ll happily read Dr Rohn’s blogs. The comments from her fawning fans, however…
especially ones who can’t spell ‘pipetted’.
Sweet lord, I wish I had never seen that. I think I lost 20 IQ points just sitting through that horrible thing. It was creepy and weird and I feel rather sullied having watched it. Yuck. Why do people think they can just manufacture a viral video? It doesn’t work that way!
Can we vote that ad off the island? Please?
I did, actually, edit /etc/hosts…
