On books

Just after I got to work this morning, a parcel appeared on my desk. “I wonder what that could be?” I said, theatrically.

Amazon parcel

Ah ha! Look at that handsome photography.

PS Don’t forget to put this Friday in your diaries. Everything changes.

  1. Ken Doyle says:

    First post–congrats, Jenny!

  2. Richard Wintle says:

    w00t!
    And yes, lovely cover photo.
I’m still waiting for the suppliers on this side of the pond to get their act together… but don’t worry, will purchase a shiny copy some time in the new year, probably.

  3. Richard P. Grant says:

Hah. It might be quicker for you to drive to CSH and pick one up.

Depending on what the snow’s like, natch.

  4. Cath Ennis says:

My diary already has all the Fridays in it.

  5. Eva Amsen says:

I was going to leave exactly the same comment Cath did. Oh no, maybe we really are the same person!

  6. Cath Ennis says:

"Oh no, maybe we really are the same person!"

Hey, I was going to say that!

  7. Eva Amsen says:

Maybe it just happens that we have the same diary. The kind with all the Fridays in it.

  8. Cath Ennis says:

Can you buy ones without Tuesdays? I don’t like Tuesdays.

(Mondays are good because you’re well rested and enthusiastic about the new week. Wednesday is humpday, Thursday is almost the weekend (plus it’s pay-day, every second week), and Friday is, well, Friday. But Tuesdays suck).

  9. Ken Doyle says:

BTW, what happened to the "On Friday" post? The links from my snapshot page are broken.

  10. Cath Ennis says:

(Justin Trudeau?! WTF?! I’ll take it, though)

  11. Richard P. Grant says:

We just need Åsa to turn up and then we have a full house.

  12. Åsa Karlström says:

     You called my liege? 😉
I was going to write something about Fridays and diaries but then Cath wrote "Mondays are good because you’re well rested and enthusiastic about the new week." and I thought, huh – maybe we’re not the same…. although, I agree on all the other points and Eva does too .. so maybe it was just this Monday after Sunday Night Football that got a bit too late?
I’m very excited about Friday! Very.

  13. Richard P. Grant says:

     I’m confused.

  14. Eva Amsen says:

So I am: I don’t even watch sports! (That’s probably the main difference between me and Asa/Cath)

-The One Who Doesn’t Watch Sports

  15. Cath Ennis says:

I guess my main difference is that I’m effectively monolingual

-The One Who Only Speaks English

  16. Åsa Karlström says:

Eva: HaHa, yes it does seem to be a devider. I guess I watch American Football whereas Cath is a (proper) football fan (.i.e soccer in this part of the world).
…and I don’t have any cats…. that’s how I differ from you two. (only one point, right?) 🙂

  17. Åsa Karlström says:

     – The One Who Doesn’t Have Cats

  18. Cath Ennis says:

So, if Åsa gets a cat, Eva starts watching football, and I brush up on my French, world domination is an inevitability!

  19. Jon Moulton says:

Sigh Right.  So where do I send the tax check now?  Oh, OK, not ’till the French football cat arrives.  Anyway, work on your plans for the budget and North Korea…

  20. Richard P. Grant says:

I’d ask for used fivers, but they’re worth sod all now.

  21. Cath Ennis says:

I’d settle for a cup of tea and a cheese sandwich, with Branston pickle.

    And maybe a chocolate brownie.
