My lawyer has advised me to say nothing.

  3. Anna Kushnir says:

That’s wonderful, Richard! Congratulations. It’s a great story. Out of curiosity, why did you decide not to use your full name in the by-line?

  4. Åsa Karlström says:

🙂 That is a nice piece. Like the way you wrote the sentences. it was…. hmm… I can’t explain, but I like it!

  5. Richard P. Grant says:

    Thanks peeps.
Anna, it’s a branding exercise. All the other fiction I’ve got out there is under ‘rpg’ (at least, the stuff that’s not on my own website). “Richard Grant” is an over-loaded name, Richard P. Grant might work, but is a bit close to the ‘E.’ joke and I’d like to separate it from my non-fiction (*cough*. Shut up, Brooks).
Besides, I like ‘rpg’ — why shouldn’t I use the left-hand side of my email address as a nom-de-plume?
That’s my story and I’m sticking to it 🙂 I actually made the decision when I needed a tag for my first story at lablit.com.
Åsa, interesting comment. Would you like to try to explain, in an email?

  6. Boris Cvek says:

    Congratulation, Richard!

  7. Cath Ennis says:

    Congratulations – nice work!

  8. Åsa Karlström says:

Richard> I think I did that now. I was a little stressed when I commented here.
Hopefully it made more sense? Short, consice sentences and clear discriptions 🙂 And congrats! Should’ve written that the first time around!

  9. Richard P. Grant says:

Hee hee — it’s fine Åsa, it was a very nice email 🙂

  10. Heather Etchevers says:

Ooops – found the answer to my comment there, here. Sorry. Way to go. Looking forward to shaking hands with all the illustrious authors published in Futures and LabLit. Maybe I should crack down and work on something, now that I’ve got so much time on my hands 🙂

  11. Richard P. Grant says:

good thing I checked in here before responding there, then…
I don’t know about time on my hands, but it gets a little confusing.

  12. Åsa Karlström says:

Richard> I’m happy it made more sense 😉
