Haha, thanks Cath, and Eva. It’s great to see this friendly competition going on.
There’s real science happening in Toronto? I thought that was where everyone got their PhDs and ran from đ to come out to the Wet Coast (where at least we don’t freeze over every winter…
I think Vancouver would be a great place for a hub…better than Stoke-on-Trent!
Kyrsten, are you sure you’re not thinking of Winnipeg?
I am watching this race with a smile, 9 time zones away. May the best win!
Thanks Massimo!
Kyrsten has just boosted our numbers to a grand total of…. three.
Hmm. Yes, that does actually describe Winnipeg. But Winnipeg at least has this. I very nearly ended up working there (I had to do vaccine studies in a level 3 environment – well, let’s just say that their facilities weren’t QUITE big enough for the horses we needed – and the pony bacterial challenge experiments just didn’t pan out..)
Winnipeg is probably a very sensible location for a level 4 lab. If anything goes wrong there’ll be only a minimal impact on civilisation.
(I should say that I’ve never been to Winnipeg, but I’ve heard all about it from various friends who grew up there. And then left as soon as they could).
