I have been distracted from my distraction

I’ve just got out of a meeting at which I learned the hourly operating cost of this research building. I’m not gonna tell you what it is, just that my jaw almost hit the floor.
This new knowledge has inspired a burst of extra productivity, to make sure that my little corner of the building is pulling its weight in the return on investment department.
How very inconvenient that this should happen on the day of the US election – I was enjoying the BBC website’s live text updates.
Ah well, back to editing my budget proposal. Whatever you do, don’t comment on this post. Distraction from this distraction from my earlier distraction is A Bad Thing.

    4-0 to the good guys

  6. Bob O'Hara says:

Ah, you were taking notice. I had assumed you had spent most of the match scrambling around for your iPhone.

  7. Cath Ennis says:

No, the kid in front of me fished it out from under his seat and handed it back pretty quickly. Apparently though, you need to switch an iPhone off and then on again after you accidentally throw it onto the ground in a fit of excitement when your favoured candidate takes Ohio. Otherwise you will not get reception until halfway through the 2nd period.

Just as well I stick to pen and paper, then – no complicated rules to remember 😉

  9. Cath Ennis says:

Unfortunately I couldn’t seem to get the BBC website to load properly on the piece of paper I’d taken as backup.

    Hee hee!
