There are some very sad people in this world.
Oh damn! I forgot!
Luckily I’m not in Australia any more…
@Bob: yes, and some miserable buggers too.
@Richard: my time zone is not conducive to being the first to post such things. Maybe MT4 will fix this by having automatic pre-set post time stamps.
Yeah, this holiday probably never really caught on in Holland. There’s another observance on May the 4th.
giggle @Cath
It’s my sister in law’s birthday today. Felicidads, Cunyada! The May the 4th joke doesn’t work so well in Catalan.
But quick as a flash, it’s my wee sister’s birthday tomorrow. I’m getting writers cramp from all the cards.
Eva, yes, I can see why a frivolous non-holiday would not catch on in those circumstances.
I emceed a friend’s wedding on May 5th, 2007. I tried to get them to bring it forward a day so I could make the same geeky joke, but with no luck.
emceed
Is that canonical?
‘MCed’, shirley?
emceed is acceptable
and don’t call me Shirley
Bah. Citing dictionaries is an admission of desperation.
Darth Vader became Prime Minister thirty years ago today.
And my parents decamped to Germany 6 months later… coincidence? They say not…
Apparently it’s also Greenery Day in Japan. I hope you had the time of your life. Oh, no, wait, that’s Green Day.
I am ignoring Richard and his sour grapes đ
The fourth WAS with me today!
I found out there’s an excellent chance that my contract will be renewed after the end of the original 2-year term (in November). Exact funding source (and therefore job description) TBD.
There’s a cheque in the post, from my first proper freelancing gig. That only took 18 months from the end of the project!
Ah, that’s my third-favourite Star Wars joke.
Number 2
Q. What do you call a quivering Jedi?
A. Panickin’ Skywalker
Number 1
VADER: “I know what you’re getting for Christmas, young Skywalker.”
LUKE: “That’s impossible. How can you know?”
VADER: “I have felt your presents”
\o/ @ Cath!
I am no longer ignoring Richard (thank you!)
I might have to ignore Matt for a bit though.
I heard about this wedding on the news this morning. I didn’t really understand it for a few minutes. (Sorry – never seen the movie, but I have sung the soundtrack).
That’s awesome! The wee girl dressed as R2D2 is so cute!
Cath> the ring seemed interesting. A part of a meteorite!
Frank> never seen the movies? not even the first ones? (the new ones I completely understand if one has “missed”….)
