Collaborations and other Friday stuff

I consider the fact that the greatest piece between you you have considered this already, but for this one small one of you, of whom blog of Brian he did not read, has announced yesterday more when timewaster in elegant and to the hour with the challenge of Gee de Babelization of emfatizou of the Henries. Since then that one inside has introduced them with the first five chains with the famous novels, this one was gezurueckuebersetzt relaunched of the periods and we that we must produce, of that it is the main tube of the collection. The soldiers of the race of the network of the nature could consider already.

In other words…
I guess most of you have seen this already, but for those few of you who don’t read Brian’s blog, yesterday he posted about an elegant timewaster, and today followed it up with The Henry Gee Challenge Babelization. In this he presented us with the five first lines to famous novels, which have been re-translated multiple times, and we have to work out what the originals are. Nature Network regulars might have guessed one already.
The other big event of today arose from Jennifer Rohn’s post and the discussion that followed. I still have to finish one post related to that, but Pedro Beltrao raised the idea that Nature Network would be a good place to find collaborators to help with projects and particular problems. I agree, and then thought that action was required.
I sprang into action, or as much as one can spring without disturbing the cat sat on your lap. With only a few clicks of a mouse, and about 17 typos, I created the Nature Networks Collaboration Group. There we can try and connect up people who want to collaborate with other NN members. So, if you fancy helping someone with their problems, or if you have some ideas of your own that would benefit from input, go along there and make it known to one and all. I’ve no idea how it will work out, that depends on other people (i.e. you) getting involved. So, join up and be active!

Well done to you for starting that Network group. I mentioned it on Nautilus earlier today
I hope you get plenty of members, as it is a great idea and the interdisciplinary mix among Nature Networkers makes the group seem a perfect place for potential collaborators to find each other.

  2. Bob O'Hara says:

Thanks, Maxine. At the moment the main thing I’m concerned about is getting the message out, so something like this helps a lot.

  3. Henry Gee says:

A cat on your lap? Phooey. Just try it with a golden retriever.
