Round 1 to Vancouver!

I’m still emotionally drained after the Canucks’ Game 7 win over Chicago on Tuesday – what a crazy end to a crazy series! Round 2 starts tonight… I’m hoping for a little less drama this time as I’m not sure my heart can take much more of it!

Oh, and I also won the first round of the playoff pool. Yay me!

Vancouver is WINNING!!!

Let’s hope Round 2 doesn’t go to Tennessee!

GO CANUCKS GO! And remember: sabretooth cats are extinct, but orcas are still top of the food chain!

    YEY!! Congrats!

    And I’m third 🙂

I’m very conflicted about this next round… which players to choose etc… but I guess I’ll hope for a longlong round 2 for everyone apart from the Orcas and get many points.

  2. Nice job! I hope to bounce back in the second round!

Oh yea…and (screw it!) GO FLYERS!!!!

Chall, that’s the trick – you have find the balance between the players who will have a good points per game average, and the players in teams that are likely to have to play 7 games! All my Western forwards and defensemen are Canucks again, but I’m hoping they get lots of points each in 5 or maybe 6 games! (I think sweeps are actually bad because of the long gap before the next round, but 7 game series are also bad because they’re so physically and emotionally demanding).

Funk, this was just the opening salvo!

Flyers fan, eh?! Tim Thomas (and Boston in general) are going to be really hard to beat, as Montreal unfortunately found out last night :’-( . But hey, anything can happen in the playoffs! The Canucks can even beat the Hawks – at the third chance!

    • Yea…well I imagine (hope!) last year may still be lingering in the Bruin’s collective memory when the Flyers came back from down 3 – 0 in the series to win it. If the Flyers can continue to play like they did in game 7 against the red hot Sabres (and an insanely good Ryan Miller), I think we can do it! But I have to say it was nice to see the Hawks get knocked out of the playoffs after last years Finals.

  4. Hmm, after last night’s game in which the Canucks dominated from start to finish but only got one goal past Nashville’s astoundingly good goalie, I’m thinking that this could be a low-scoring series and I may be slipping to the bottom of the rankings pretty quickly!

Ah well, the Canucks winning is much more important than any pool 🙂

se, i should’ve read the rules better.. I thought that the goalies got points for all their “defelected points” s well as wining the game, Rinna is (what ever you like about it) a good deflector. Then I realized that goalies only get points for won games after the fact…. surprise surprise, I’m not wanting Canucks to loose but according to my picks that partly what I want… clearly I shoud’ve paid more attention. I hope to remedy my actions in round 3 😉

As expected, I am inhaling through a small opening. 😉

Ah well. Since I haven’t watched a single hockey game all year, I guess I can’t complain too much.
